Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY: Performs non-invasive diagnostic vascular testing in an office setting, utilizing duplex ultrasound imaging/doppler techniques. The Vascular Technologist is responsible for patient assessments, acquiring and analyzing data and providing a summary of findings to the interpreting physician. 

Performs diagnostic vascular scans and assessments in accordance with organizational policies and standards of practice, and documenting the assessments in EMR system.  Communicates summary of findings to the interpreting physician. 

Takes vitals from patient and documents this information in the Electronic Medical Record prior to performing any testing. Communicates any abnormal findings to the physician. Explains procedure to patient and ensures patient privacy and comfort. 

Verifies orders from other medical facilities as well as orders from within same practice, records patient history as necessary in coordination with the medical assistant, and ensures documentation is in chart pertinent to indications for testing.

Maintains a safe and supportive environment by keeping the work area, vascular lab and equipment clean, orderly and operating in a safe manner, ensuring availability and proper functioning of supplies and equipment.  

Schedules patients for vascular lab testing as well as follow up office visit. 


Required - High School Diploma or GED 

Preferred - 2 year/Assocates Degree in Biology, health or related field

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (must be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated):

Required - ARDMS - RVT (registered vascular tech) or Registry Eligible tech 

Shift and Job Schedule

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours weekly

Shift: Days, 8:00am - 4:30pm
