Job Summary

MISSION:

The mission of Mercy Health is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus by improving the health of our communities with emphasis on people who are poor and under-served.

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibility is to operate and maintain Mobile Clinic; provide support to professional staff, acting on the values and mission of Mercy Health; and provide coverage for the Mobile Dental Clinic.

Qualifications - Minimum

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid Ohio drivers license.

CDL required to drive Mobile Dental Clinic.

EXPERIENCE:

Excellent driving record.

Previous experience with truck or bus required.

Patient care experience required

Current CPR certification.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge and skill required to perform the job responsibilities for both technical and dimensional content. 

Has broad, fairly detailed level of knowledge of a specific area.

Gathers, organizes, verifies, composes, and/or analyzes data in the completion of several defined, multi-step procedures.

Produces final output within established standards.

May operate complicated equipment/machinery.

PRINCIPAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.   Operate Mobile Clinic from HMHP to various community sites.

Report all mechanical malfunctions to appropriate maintenance personnel and Director.

Maintain all records as appropriate, including but not limited sign in sheets; log recording arrival and departure times; environment of care log; gas and maintenance logs.

Adhere to maintenance schedule and general upkeep of vehicle.

Safely operates vehicle to each site and holds responsibility for vehicle while there.

Maintain fluids on the Mobile (water, oil, fluids, gas etc.) and schedule oil changes and generator check-ups.

Provides basic mechanic assistance to the van (some responsibilities include generator oil replacement; internal and external light replacement; fuse changes; and emergency maintenance, when possible, at a site)

2.   Provide support to health care practitioners on Mobile Clinic.

Maintain patient confidentiality.

Assist with on-site information gathering and clerical needs, specifically assisting patients with HCAP eligibility arrangements, (e.g.: help patient fill out appropriate HCAP paper work, deciphering whether new or renewal HCAP; refer patient to financial counselor for follow up or educate patient about mailing in eligibility forms) or MSP forms (ask patient questions on MSP forms and fill out form for patient and return materials to HMHP registration personnel).

May assist physician and nurse with basic medical care (e.g.: blood pressure, height and weights)

Maintain sign-in sheets and statistics on people receiving service on clinic.

Assist health care practitioner with supplies or requests as appropriate.

Obtain needed supplies for bus with appropriate authorization of manager.

3.   Follows through on task to its completion.

4.   Carries out assignments independently asking for assistance as appropriate.

5.   Responds positively to suggestions for improvement.

Recognizes own limitations and seeks help from appropriate sources when needed.

Speaks positively about co-workers and the hospital displaying commitment.

6.   Meets department standards for productivity.

Contributes to quality improvement and follows requirements as appropriate

7. Provide back-up driving assistance for the Mobile Dental Clinic (when dental clinic is without a driver, when possible, drive dental clinic to scheduled site).

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES – Other:

Willing to assume other duties as needed to support community outreach and HMHP objectives.

Hours per pay period: 16

Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm

On Mondays & Fridays will start at 6:30am and work until 3:00pm.
