Job Responsibilities

As an Epic Application Coordinator, you will work directly with clinical and office staff as you configure our CarePATH EHR system, helping to transform the way in which we provide care to the communities we serve. You will apply your creativity and problem-solving talents as you discover and design solutions for a broad array of issues, from performing optimizations and software upgrades developing configurations to improve efficiency and patient safety.

Your specific duties in this role will include:

  • Collaborating with clinicians and other market leaders to build and maintain clinical and financial systems using Epic software
  • Leading projects effectively including meeting milestones, managing risks, and maintaining communication with a variety of stakeholders and office staff as you configure our CarePATH EHR system, helping to transform the way in which we provide care to the communities we serve. You will apply your creativity and problem-solving talents as you discover and design solutions for a broad array of issues, from performing optimizations and software upgrades developing configurations to improve efficiency and patient safety.
  • Preparing and leading project meetings
  • Understanding the importance of responsiveness in clinical care situations and acting accordingly
  • Supporting end users, including issue documentation, resolution, and follow up
  • Serving as the primary contact for CarePATH-related questions
  • Working with Epic to manage complex issues and software optimization
  • Participating in on-call rotation including weekend and after-hours coverage
  • Prioritizing, implementing, and communicating system updates and changes
  • Thoroughly reviewing, analyzing and testing every system change
  • Following change control policies, and supporting standardization and collaborative decisions
  • Documenting and following processes
  • Developing and enforcing CarePATH policies related to system use to ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements

We are looking for an Epic Application Coordinator who combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively self-manage. You should also have outstanding multitasking and organizational skills, as well as the flexibility to adapt to quickly changing priorities and to remain resourceful and confident under pressure. It is also important that you demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities, as well as the leadership skills to encourage buy-in on training practices and to interact with individuals at all levels of our organization.

Specific qualifications for the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above 
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare related organization OR 5-7 years in a non-healthcare setting
  • Epic training and certification preferred 
  • Detailed understanding of workflows and system configuration
  • Strong writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to absorb complex technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to research, organize, analyze and synthesize data to support effective decision making
  • Ability to proactively identify gaps and participate in solutions
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel throughout Ohio and Kentucky and other states as needed
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Clinical experience, preferred
  • Medical records and billing background, preferred

Shift and Job Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week, days, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

May need to work evenings  weekends  holidays and will be on-call.
